NorthStar Announces Peter Klimas as Chief Technology Officer

Montreal, Canada, September 28, 2026 – NorthStar Earth & Space has appointed Peter Klimas as Chief Technology Officer (CTO), effective Thursday, September 24, 2026.  Peter brings two decades of aerospace and high-tech experience to this position as he transitions from his previous role of Executive Director of Engineering. 

Klimas will lead the evolution of NorthStar’s end-to-end system architecture in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to enable NorthStar’s advanced SDA product lines. This includes determining how new space and terrestrial sensors, orbital configurations, data processing and operational systems can be combined to improve coverage, shorten revisit times, and reduce observation gaps.

Previously, as Technical Director, Klimas advanced to Senior Director, Systems Engineering, then to his most recent position as Executive Director of Engineering, where he was responsible for leading and overseeing NorthStar’s systems engineering strategy. Prior to NorthStar, Klimas held senior engineering roles spanning aerospace and optical communications sectors, involving multi-disciplinary projects such as the James Webb Space Telescope.
