Katerina has broad knowledge of environment and sustainability issues, and has managed a range of programs including all modes of transportation, innovation and disruptive technologies, and greenhouse gas emissions reductions strategies. Prior to joining NorthStar, she worked for Transport Canada for 10 years where she developed policies, managed funding programs and administered regulations.
At Transport Canada, Katerina managed the R&D Central Fund, a Grants and Contributions Program on truck congestion at major Canadian Ports, collaborative Federal/Provincial projects, and senior management budgets. She led corporate reporting and comprehensive review exercises and was responsible for administering and enforcing economic marine transportation regulations, including implementing amendments resulting from the Canada-European Union Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA), and all stakeholder engagement on regulation application and interpretation.
Katerina holds a Master’s degree from The University of Western Ontario in Environment and Sustainability and an Honours B.A. from Carleton University.
